Applied Horticultural Research have just released a new app called Veg Pest ID which you can use to identify pests and diseases on vegetable crops. The crops covered in this version include:

  • Baby leaf crops (e.g. Spinach, Lettuce, Rocket, Mizuna)
  • Brassicas (e.g. Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Brussels sprouts)
  • Carrots, Celery, Parsley
  • Sweet corn
  • Sweet potato

The app can be used on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets.

To download the app, simply search Veg Pest ID online in the Apple Store for Apple or the Play Store for Android devices. For more information, please follow this link.

Once installed, the device does not need to be connected to the internet. It is designed to help growers and agricultural professionals identify pests on Australian vegetable crops. Even tricky insects, diseases and disorders can be found with a few taps or keyword search.
