Myrtle Rust

Myrtle rust which is part of the eucalyptus/guava rust complex has been confirmed in Australia on a wide range of host plants in the family Myrtaceae. This is a significant concern to Australia due to the dominance of these plant groups in natural eucalyptus dominated ecosystems as well as the threat to the eucalyptus plantation industry. Myrtle Rust has recently been detected in Victoria and this site leads to further information on the disease.
