All who are interested in predicting the weather are invited to a seminar to see how technologies, methods and philosophies have changed in recent years at the Bureau of Meteorology. With predicted Climate Change, is it still valid to use historical data to predict what might happen in the future? Much weather forecasting is now done by using Numerical Weather Prediction Models (NWPs). What are these NWPs? How good are they? How are they used? What else is new at the BoM?
Andrea Peace has five years experience working as a weather forecaster at the Bureau of Meteorology and she is now the Media and Community Relations Manager.
