Carina Setting Filed Walk
15 December 2011 10:36 AM
Carina Setting spray Field Walk – held on Wednesday 14 December.
This was a follow-up FW to a session held on 24 October (just prior to the suggested time to apply Cycocel using the split method of applying setting sprays).
Properties that used either the split or single spray applications methods were visited to observe the results of this seasons setting spraying.
The photos show Jason Bottams explaining to the group how he modifies his wetting machine (used in trellis drying) to catch and reuse any overspray.
Although the group was small, there was great discussion and exchange of ideas.
Field Walks are a great reason to get of your block and see and learn what other growers are doing, I would encourage all growers to make these days a priority for them to attend.

Sunmuscat Shatter Field Walk 12 December 2011
12 December 2011 04:29 PM
One of the treatment vines in the Sunmuscat shatter trial showing a good crop.
All that is needed is good weather to further develop and mature the crop with no rain to damage the grapes, unlike last season where downy mildew and botrytis virtually destroyed the whole crop.
